A job will not be considered for warranty process without payment in full. 1 year warranty for workmanship & materials: 1-year materials to the extent of the material suppliers’ warranty. In the case of defective materials, the cost of labor for any repair work is not included in the material warranty. Be advised, concrete is a natural product and will crack. There is no warranty coverage or repairs for hairline cracks. Cracks that are a 1/8” or wider will be evaluated for repair, but not a replacement. Hairline cracks up to 1⁄4” wide will be routed and caulked or patched. There will be no refunds for cracks. Areas with heaving cracks (vertically offset by 1⁄4” or greater) will be repaired or replaced at Capital City Concrete’s discretion. Only in the event of the concrete shifting, Capital City Concrete will evaluate the situation and consider a replacement. The use of salts or ice melts on the new concrete will automatically void the 1-year warranty, and Capital City Concrete cannot be held responsible for any subsequent damages.
Please note: Concrete is a natural material and therefore textures and colors are affected by factors beyond our control. New concrete should not be expected to match existing work or samples provided. Capital City Concrete is not the supplier for any color, release agents, stamps, etc., therefore there is no guarantee or warranty for any color or color variations for any concrete project.
Regular 4” pads are not graded for holding irregularly heavy items for long periods of time. These include wooden pergolas, paver seating walls, hot tubs, large RVs, large boats, etc. If any of the above items or any other large item will be placed on the concrete, it should be communicated to your estimator during the proposal process in order to ensure proper planning and pricing. If any large item is placed on the pad without appropriate planning, the pad may crack and will not be covered by the warranty.
Contractor will not be held responsible for ponding areas that hold water if the grade (fall) across the area(s) in question is less than 1.5% (approximately 2” of fall per 10’ of distance). Low areas are not a structural problem, but are often the combination of insufficient grade and the natural surface tension inherent in new asphalt.
Due to the natural expansion and contraction of the ground due to seasonal temperature and moisture fluctuations, neither asphalt nor concrete can be warranted against cracking. Excessive cracking (except where asphalt is applied over existing, deteriorating asphalt or concrete) and/or raveling and breaking are covered during the warranty period.
Spalling of concrete due to salt application or exposure is not covered by this warranty.
Protective sealing of asphalt or concrete is a separate service and is not included as a standard component of installation.
